Deborah D. Hoover is a social entrepreneur, philanthropy professional, non-profit attorney, and experienced board member. She has worked for multiple foundations during her career, including serving as president and CEO of Burton D. Morgan Foundation, a private foundation based in Ohio dedicated to advancing entrepreneurship.
She served for ten years as a trustee of Candid, the premier source of global data on philanthropy. Deborah received the Northeast Ohio EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2014 in the Educational Services & Nonprofit category. She earned her B. A. from Williams College, a Master’s in art history from the University of Chicago, and a Master’s in cultural history from Kent State University. She earned a J.D. degree at George Washington University where she served on the law review, and also holds an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Baldwin Wallace University. Deborah is a member of the bar in Ohio, District of Columbia, and New Hampshire.
She is Founder and CEO of Feldspar Consulting Group, a consulting practice established in 2021 dedicated to assisting clients define strategic frameworks, build capacity, and align governance practices with leadership goals. She loves hiking, kayaking, gardening, and exploring the world through travel.
